DAY WORK:
During weekdays, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads, as required.
- Maintain stockpile locations, sweeping, dust control.
- Excavate, backfill, form subgrade and place process aggregate base along Route 15 NB from south of Paddock Avenue to north of the Route 15 NB Bridge over I-91 south of the East Main Street.
- Excavate, backfill, form subgrade, place process aggregate base, and install temporary earth retaining system on Route 15 NB Exit 65 N-E off-ramp.
- Install precast concrete parapet modules for multiple retaining walls.
- Install temporary earth retaining system for the Route 15 NB Bridge over I-91 North of East Main Street.
- Install drainage swales in the median of I-691 WB.
- Excavate and install temporary earth retaining system at various retaining walls.
- Set and strip formwork for pier 2 pedestals on the Route 15 NB Bridge over I-91 north of the East Main Street.
- Prep, pour, cure, and rub concrete at various locations.
- Set and strip formwork at the Paddock Avenue Bridge wing walls and pier.
- Pour footing, stem, wing walls, back wall and pedestals on the Paddock Avenue Bridge.
- Set/strip formwork on abutment 2 footing and stem of the I-91 WB Bridge over Gravel Street.
- Pour footing, stem, back wall, and sidewalk on the I-91 Bridge over Gravel Street.
- Winter concrete heating, maintenance, etc., as needed.
- Install drainage at various retaining walls and I-691 WB Exit 2A slope.
- Install permanent fence at various locations.
- Metal beam rail reset and installation at various locations.
- Install illumination structures at various locations.
- Onsite/offsite trucking.
NIGHTTIME LANE and/or Road CLOSURES:
Closures are possible Sunday through Friday nights from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM as follows for bridge reconstruction work:
- Ramp and lane closures may be possible on Route 15, I-91, and I-691
- Paddock Avenue
- Gravel Street
NIGHT WORK:
Sunday through Friday nights from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, crews will conduct a variety of work as noted below throughout Project limits:
- Install processed aggregate base on I-91 NB and I-691 WB at various locations.
- Relocate temporary traffic barrier and signage for traffic shifts at various locations.
- Excavate and backfill for Route 15 NB right shoulder at Paddock Avenue Bridge vicinity.
- Set and strip formwork, and install overhang brackets and underdecking on the Route 15 NB bridge over I-91 south of East Main Street
- Pour center pier footing and stem on the Paddock Avenue Bridge.
- Repair metal beam rail on Route 15 NB and I-91 NB.
- Inspect steel repairs on the East Main Street Bridge.
- Install decking and overhang brackets on the Route 15 NB bridge over I-91 north of East Main Street
- Traffic shift on Route 15 NB Route 15 NB Exit 65 N-E off ramp and I-91 NB
LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS:
- The On-ramp to Route 15 NB, I-91 NB and I-691 EB from East Main Street is closed temporarily for roadway construction and safety. Read more and see detour map here.
