Travelers are advised that there will be a traffic shift to the new portion of the Paddock Avenue Bridge over Route 15 in Meriden.
The traffic shift is scheduled to occur on Thursday night, September 18, 2025, and will be in place for approximately a year and a half.
There will be alternating one way traffic (as there has been over the past year) on the Paddock Avenue Bridge, but the traffic will shift to the newly constructed side of the bridge. As previously, a traffic signal control will be in place to guide motorists through the work zone. Note that the temporary sidewalk will shift as well on the outside of the bridge.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
In addition, please anticipate nighttime closures on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road from Wednesday night, 9/17 between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. This will continue for several weeks, on and off, to support barrier moves, demolition and steel girder removal. Local access will be maintained and detour information will be posted.

A detour will be posted directing traffic easterly on Murdock Avenue to Research Parkway to East Main Street and finally to Paddock Avenue. Another detour will be posted directing traffic eastly on East Main Street to Research Parkway to Murdock Avenue and finally to Paddock Avenue.
