There will be a continuous closure of the on-ramp to Route 15 NB, I-91 NB, and I-691 WB from East Main Street in Meriden starting from 6:00 AM, Monday, December 1, 2025, until further notice.
The closure is necessary for roadway reconstruction and safety.
The detour route will be posted as follows; also see the graphic below:
- Take East Main Street eastbound
- Left onto Preston Avenue
- Left onto the on-ramp for I-691 WB
- Take Exit 1-A for I-91 NB
- Take Exit 1-C for Route 15 NB
Also in the image slider below is an alternate truck route, and a route to I-91 NB from Exit 15 when I-91 NB is backed up due to steel erection on the Route 15 NB bridge south of East Main Street.
Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
