Phase 2: Update for the Weeks of March 2 and 9, 2026

DAY WORK:

During weekdays, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:

  • Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads, as required.
  • Maintain stockpile locations, sweeping, dust control, as required.
  • Install water main at Paddock Avenue Bridge vicinity.
  • Excavate, formation of subgrade, place process aggregate base, and install temporary earth retaining system for the new Route 15 NB Exit 64A ramp to East Main Street and backfill and formation of subgrade for approach slabs.
  • Install precast concrete modules for multiple retaining walls.
  • Excavate, backfill, form subgrade and place process aggregate base along Route 15 NB south of Paddock Avenue.
  • Form and pour leveling pads for multiple retaining walls.
  • Set and strip formwork for moment slabs for multiple retaining walls.
  • Set and strip formwork for Paddock Avenue Bridge overhead and under decking.
  • Set and strip formwork for abutment 1, backwall and pedestals for the I-691 Bridge over Gravel Street.
  • Winter conditions: heating, ground thaw, blankets, maintenance, etc., as needed.
  • Install rebar on multiple bridge decks.
  • Install overhead sign foundations at various locations throughout the project limits.
  • Onsite/offsite trucking.

LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS:

The On-ramp to Route 15 NB, I-91 NB and I-691 EB from East Main Street is closed temporarily for roadway construction and safety. Read more and see detour map here.

Paddock Avenue: one-way alternating traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal, and nighttime closure/detour on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road. Read more here.
