Phase 2: Update for the Weeks of October 5 & 12, 2026

DAYTIME WORK:

Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted throughout the Phase 2 Project limits:

  • Excavate, backfill, formation of subgrade, place aggregate on the following areas:
    • Route 15 NB and I-91 NB medians.
    • Route 15 NB at Paddock Avenue to Route 15 Bridge.
    •  I-691 WB from the I-691 WB bridge over Route 15 to the I-691 Bridge over Gravel Street.
    • I-91 NB, south of East Main Street to the East Main Street Bridge.
  • Prep, pour, cure, patch and install penetrating sealer at various locations.
  • Set and strip formwork on multiple bridge decks and bridge elements for the Route 15 NB Bridge over I-91 south of East Main Street.
  • Form and install rebar on multiple bridges.
  • Install:
    • Drainage on the Route 15 NB ramp to I-691 WB and in the I-91 and Route 15 medians.
    • Illumination both permanent and temporary on I-691.
    • Underground signal devices on East Main Street.
    • Metal beam rail at various locations on Route 15 NB and I-691 Exit 2A.
    • Permanent fencing at various bridges.
    • Jacking columns and perform steel repairs at multiple bridges.

NIGHTTIME WORK:

Sunday through Thursday nights from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM crews will conduct a variety of work. Please read about our night time noise and construction work here.

Lane and ramp closures/stoppages on I-91, I-691, and Route 15.

  • Bridge work including containment painting and penetration sealer on multiple bridges.
  • Excavate, backfill, formation of subgrade, place aggregate on Route 15 NB from the Route 15 NB ramp to I-91 to the Route 15 NB Bridge over I-91 north of East Main Street.
  • Drainage installation on Route 15 NB
  • Install overhangs and decking on the Route 15 NB Bridge over I-91 north of East Main Street.

NIGHT WORK—Lane Closures:  

Sunday through Thursday nights from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted with the following anticipated closures:

I-91 NB & SB (Exit 16 to Exit 18) for bridge blast and clean, and overhang & decking installation
