HOLIDAY WEEKEND SCHEDULE:
Note there will be no work over the Memorial Day holiday weekend from 6:00 AM Friday, 5/22 to Tuesday, 5/26 at 9:00 AM
DAY WORK:
Except for the holiday schedule, during weekdays Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads, as required.
- Maintain stockpile locations, sweeping, dust control, as required.
- Excavate and backfill at the detention pond and install drainage.
- Excavate, formation of subgrade, place process aggregate base at I-691 WB Exit 2A.
- Excavate, formation of subgrade, place process aggregate base, and final grading at the I-91 NB ramp to Route 15 NB (Exit 17) and the Route 15 NB merge.
- Install permanent barrier on Route 15 NB at the retaining wall in the vicinity of the Route 15 NB Bridge over I-91 south of East Main Street, and form and pour barrier cap for the wall.
- Excavate, formation of subgrade, and place process aggregate base at the Route 15 Bridge over I-91 north of East Main Street and the Route 15 NB on-ramp to I-91 NB (Exit 65A).
- Pave various areas along I-91 NB, Route 15 NB, the Route 15 NB ramp to I-691 WB, and the I-91 NB ramp to Route 15 NB.
- Paddock Avenue Bridge vicinity:
- Install topsoil and plantings along Paddock Avenue, and excavate, backfill and place aggregate base for bus stops.
- Excavate and backfill along Route 15 NB in Paddock Avenue bridge vicinity.
- Install metal beam rail at the Paddock Avenue bridge vicinity
- Install plantings along Route 15 NB at Paddock Avenue Bridge vicinity
- Install permanent signs on Paddock Avenue
- Mason finish work
- Pave the top lift on bridge deck.
- Traffic shift into the final alignment.
- Set and strip formwork for the parapet and backwalls for the I-691 WB bridge over Gravel Street
- Demolish the pedestals for the I-691 WB Bridge over Route 15 and jack column alteration.
- Set, strip, and pour pedestals and abutment 1 for the East Main Street Bridge over I-91.
- Prep, pour, cure, patch at various locations.
- Set and strip formwork and pour temporary slabs for concrete pavement repair
- Set and strip formwork for the Route 15 NB ramp to east Main Street.
- Install drainage at multiple locations.
- Install illumination at multiple ramps, and illumination repairs.
- Install overhead sign foundations at various locations throughout the project limits.
- Onsite/offsite trucking.
NIGHT WORK:
Except for the holiday schedule, Sunday through Thursday nights from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Ramp and lane closures and stoppages on Route 15, I-91, and I-691.
- Strip temporary sidewalks on Paddock Avenue and overhangs on bridge.
- Perform mastic pavement repairs in various areas.
- Perform joint and sealing work at various areas on I-91 NB and Route 15 NB.
LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS:
The On-ramp to Route 15 NB, I-91 NB and I-691 EB from East Main Street is closed temporarily for roadway construction and safety. Read more and see detour map.
Anticipated completion by May 22, 2026: Paddock Avenue: one-way alternating traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal, and nighttime closure/detour on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road. Read more.
