SHORT-TERM CLOSURE and DETOUR:
- I-91 NB and Route 15 NB temporary Exit ramp closures to East Main Street Begin Sunday, April 19 through Sunday, May 3, 2026. Read more and see the detour maps.
DAY WORK:
During weekdays Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads, as required.
- Maintain stockpile locations, sweeping, dust control, as required.
- Prepare, excavate and backfill for headwall at I691 WB Exit 2A slope.
- Full-depth roadway reconstruction on the I-91 NB and Route 15 NB off ramps to East Main Street.
- Install modules for multiple retaining walls and parapets.
- Install permanent barrier at the Route 15 NB Exit 64-B ramp to East Main Street.
- Pave various areas along I-91 NB, I-691 WB, Route 15 NB, the I-91 NB median and the Route 15 NB Exit 64-B ramp to East Main Street.
- Excavate, formation of subgrade, place process aggregate base on Paddock Avenue aprons, curbing, and sidewalk.
- Set and strip formwork for:
- Paddock Avenue and pour sidewalks.
- Multiple moment slabs.
- Paddock Avenue Bridge overhead and under decking.
- Pedestals for the East Main Street Bridge.
- The Route 15 NB bridge over I-91 north of East Main Street.
- Prep, pour, cure, patch, and install penetrating sealer at various locations.
- Install illumination at multiple retaining walls.
- Install overhead sign foundations at various locations throughout the project limits.
- Install metal beam rails and anchors on Route 15 NB and I-91 NB in various locations.
- Onsite/offsite trucking.
NIGHT WORK:
Sunday through Thursday nights from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Route 15 NB: Right lane closures from Miller Avenue to Exit 65A.
- Route 15 SB: Left lane closures from Paddock Avenue to Miller Avenue.
- Paddock Avenue Road Closure: follow detour route.
- Ramp and lane closures on Route 15, I-91, and I-691.
- Install fencing on parapets on the Paddock Avenue Bridge.
- Install permanent drainage on Route 15 NB in the Paddock Avenue Bridge vicinity.
- Tree clearing and roadway core testing with lane closures.
LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS:
- The On-ramp to Route 15 NB, I-91 NB and I-691 EB from East Main Street is closed temporarily for roadway construction and safety. Read more and see detour map.
