THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY
No work is anticipated on the project over the holiday from 3:30 PM on Wednesday, November 27 to 6:00 AM on Friday, November 29. No closures are scheduled except for emergency.
NIGHT WORK
With the exception of the above holiday work, anticipated work for these weeks will be from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM (Sunday through Thursday nights):
Lane Closures for temporary barrier work:
- I-91 NB (Exit 15 to Exit 18)
- I-91 SB (Exit 17 to Exit 18)
- I-691 WB (Exit 1A to 2A)
- I-691 EB (Exit 2A to Exit 1B)
Ramp Closures and Detours (Click each for detour route)
- Monday, 12/2 through Thursday 12/5: Route 15 NB Exit 68W off ramp
- Tuesday and Wednesday, 12/3 and 12/4: I-91 NB Exit 16 off-ramp to East Main Street
DAY WORK
With the exception of the above holiday work, during weekdays, Monday, November 25 through Friday December 6, anticipated work throughout the Phase 2 Project limits is summarized below:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads.
- Excavate and backfill drainage swales
- Excavate for retaining wall for new Route 15 Exit 67 Bridge to East Main Street, install temporary earth retaining system, cofferdam, double wall blocks, and culvert repairs
- Form and pour leveling pads for retaining wall for new Route 15 Exit 67 Bridge
- Excavate the Paddock Avenue bridge over Route 15
- Excavate, backfill, and set up access for Route 15 shoulder from Miller Avenue.
- Prep for traffic shifts on I-91 NB and the Exit 16 vicinity.
- Install new illumination elements.
- Install permanent drainage at Route 15 NB Exit to I-691 WB.
- Install production piles at Paddock Avenue bridge abutments.
- Deliver doublewall blocks
LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS
Paddock Avenue: one-way alternating traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal, and nighttime closure/detour on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road: read more.
I-91 NB/SB turn-around: Temporary traffic barriers have been installed across the I-91 NB/SB emergency turn-around located just south of the Murdock Avenue overpass. This closure will be I effect until approximately the end of October 2024. Read the alert on our website here.
