Lane Closures
- I-91 NB – Exits 15 to Exit 16 for shoulder excavation and drainage
- Route 15 NB/SB (Miller Avenue to Paddock Avenue.): for bridge demolition preparation
Road and Ramp Closures and Detours
- 15-minute Road closures on Route 15 NB and SB from Miller Avenue to Paddock Avenue for bridge demolition.

DAY WORK
During weekdays, Monday, September 23 through Friday, October 4, from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted below throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads
- Excavate, backfill, and grade the Route 15 NB Exit 68 W bridge to I-691 WB pier and I-91 median
- Excavate, backfill, and form subgrade for detention basin area and install detention basin envelope.
- Install temporary earth retaining system at Route 15 NB Exit 67 off-ramp vicinity and at I-91 NB Exit 16 off-ramp
- Remove pavement and concrete pavement at:
- Route 15 NB Exit 68 W off-ramp
- East Main Street on-ramp to Route 15 NB and I-91 NB and I-691 WB
- Route 15 NB Exit 68 N-E off-ramp
- Excavate, backfill, and form subbase for I-91 NB Exit 16
- Perform wetland creating work; install streambed material
- Install cofferdam and perform culvert repairs
- Formwork, form and backfill abutment and wingwall footings for the Route 15 NB bridge to East Main Street
- Drainage and wetland mitigation work
LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS
- Paddock Avenue: one-way alternating traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal, and nighttime closure/detour on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road: read more here.
- I-91 NB/SB turn-around: Temporary traffic barriers have been installed across the I-91 NB/SB emergency turn-around located just south of the Murdock Avenue overpass. This closure will be I effect until approximately the end of October 2024. Read the alert on our website here.
