HOLIDAY SCHEDULE NOTICE:
There will be no closures on the project from Thursday morning, July 3, 6:00 AM to Monday morning, July 7 at 6:00 AM over the Fourth of July Holiday.
NIGHTTIME LANE CLOSURES:
Except for the Holiday schedule, closures are possible Sunday through Friday nights from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM as follows:
- I-91 NB (exits 15-18) for drainage work and shoulder reconstruction
- Route 15 NB and SB (Miller Avenue to Paddock Avenue) for steel girder installation
- East Main Street (East Main Street Bridge) for bridge reconstruction work
NIGHT WORK:
Except for the Holiday schedule, during the Sunday through Friday nights from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, crews will conduct a variety of work as noted below throughout Project limits:
- Paddock Avenue Bridge and Route 15 Nighttime Closures for bridge girder installation: read more here.
- Work on the East Main Street bridge
- I-91 NB: Sawcut for concrete pavement replacement
DAY WORK:
Except for the Holiday schedule, during weekdays, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted below throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads, as required.
- Maintain stockpile locations, sweeping, dust control.
- Excavate, backfill and dewater temporary earth retaining for retaining wall on Route 15 NB north of Paddock Avenue Bridge over Route 15 and install precast concrete blocks.
- Install precast concrete blocks at various retaining wall locations
- Excavate, backfill, form subgrade, and shape slopes on Route 15 north of Paddock Avenue
- Form and pour leveling pads for retaining walls along the I-91 NB and Route 15 NB Exit ramps to East Main Street and install precast concrete blocks.
- Install damp-proofing on the bridge abutments for the Paddock Avenue bridge over Route 15
- Install support of excavation for the I-691 WB bridges over Gravel Street and Route 15
- Demolish pedestals on Pier one at the East Main Street bridge and pour stage one deck ends
- Install soil nail wall at the I-691 WB bridge over Gravel Street
- Install rebar for the pier for the Route 15 NB bridge over I-91 south of East Main Street
- Install I-91 median light bases
- Install permanent drainage at various location
- Install formwork for bridge deck for the new Route 15 Exit 67 bridge to East Main Street
- Prep, pour, cure, patch, and rub concrete at various locations as required
- Onsite/offsite trucking
LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS:
Paddock Avenue: one-way alternating traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal, and nighttime closure/detour on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road: read more here.
