For the week of October 27, 2024, expect work from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM (Sunday 10/27 through Thursday 10/31 nights).
Lane Closures
- I-91 NB – Exits 15 to Exit 16 for median widening
- Route 15 NB/SB (Miller Avenue to Paddock Avenue.): Route 15 NB widening
- I-691 WB (Exit 1A to 2A) for bridge demolition work

Sunday through Thursday nights – October 27 through 31, for bridge demolition work:
DAY WORK
During weekdays, Monday, October 28 through Friday, October 25, from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted below throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads
- Formation of Subgrade/Process Aggregate Base/Fine Grade:
- Route 15 NB Exit 68 N-E off ramp
- I-91 NB Exit 16 off ramp to Route 15 NB, and the I-91 NB ramp to Route 15 NB and begin paving operations
- East Main Street on-ramp to Route 15 NB and I-91 NB and I-691 WB
- Install temporary earth retaining system at Gravel Street for I-691 bridge widening.
- Excavate and backfill for retaining wall for new Route 15 Exit 67 bridge to East Main Street, cofferdam and temporary earth retaining system.
- Bridge repair work at the I-691 bridges over N. Wall Street.
- Bridge back wall and wing wall form work and concrete pour at the Route 15 NB Exit 67 off-ramp bridge vicinity.
- Install access for the Route 15 bridge over 91.
- Install new illumination elements.
- Install permanent drainage at I-91 NB Exit 16 off ramp.
- Install micropiles at Paddock Ave. bridge abutments.
- Drill, prep, and test verification pile at the Paddock Avenue bridge over Route 15.
LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS
Paddock Avenue: one-way alternating traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal, and nighttime closure/detour on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road: read more here.
I-91 NB/SB turn-around: Temporary traffic barriers have been installed across the I-91 NB/SB emergency turn-around located just south of the Murdock Avenue overpass. This closure will be I effect until approximately the end of October 2024. Read the alert on our website here.
