Phase 1: Update for the Weeks of December 15, 22, & 29, 2024

Note that the contractor will pause for a two-week winter shutdown beginning on Friday, December 21, 2024.
Crews will return to the project site on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
No traffic impacts are anticipated from December 21, 2024, to January 4, 2025, except for an emergency.

December 15 to December 21, during daytime hours, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, crews will conduct the following activities:

  • Forming for the parapet modifications and soundwalls on the following bridges:
    • I-691 EB bridge over I-91
    • I-691 EB bridge over Bee Street
    • I-691 EB bridge over ramp from I-691 WB to I-91 SB
  • Drainage activities on I-691 EB
  • Bearing replacements on the following bridges:
    • I-691 EB bridge over Bee Street
    • I-691 EB bridge over ramp from I-691 WB to I-91 SB
    • I-91 NB bridge over Bee Street
    • I-691 EB bridge over I-91
    • I-91 NB bridge over Baldwin Avenue
  • Installation of access decking for needle/bearing replacement and soundwall installation on the I-91NB bridge over Bee Street

LONG-TERM CLOSURES/TRAFFIC PATTERNS

Paddock Avenue: one-way alternating traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal, and nighttime closure/detour on Paddock Avenue over Route 15 between Barr Road and Overlook Road: read more.

I-91 NB/SB turn-around: Temporary traffic barriers have been installed across the I-91 NB/SB emergency turn-around located just south of the Murdock Avenue overpass. This closure will be I effect until approximately the end of October 2024. Read the alert on our website here.
