- MURDOCK AVENUE BRIDGE LONG-TERM ALTERNATING ONE-WAY TRAFFIC BEGINS AUGUST 27: The start of alternating one-way traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal on the Murdock Avenue Bridge over I-91, to facilitate ongoing bridge replacement activities, will begin on Thursday, August 27. DAYTIME WORK:
Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted throughout the Phase 3 Project limits:
- Culvert rehabilitation at multiple sites
- Maintain water handling
- Haul in and stockpile supplemental streambed channel material
- Sawcut, excavate and backfill in the I-91 SB median from north end of project limits to Exit 17 for the added lane
- Sawcut, excavated and backfill in the Route 15 SB median and the I-691 EB median
- Pave widening I-91 SB median from the north end of the project limits to the Baldwin Avenue Bridge
- Construction staking sitewide
- Install drainage on I-91 SB from Murdock Avenue to the Route 15 bridge over I-91 south of East Main Street
- Work on multiple bridges including parapet caps, curb, deck ends and cut-off wall
- Relocate cable fiber, and internet lines over the Murdock Avenue Bridge and install temporary water main
NIGHTTIME LANE CLOSURES:
Sunday through Friday nights from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM crews will conduct a variety of work with lane closes as noted:
- I-91 SB (From the on ramp from East Main Street to Exit 15) for steel access, median replacement work and sawcutting
NIGHTTIME WORK – BRIDGE DEMOLITION/CONSTRUCTION:
