Temporary Closure and Detour of the on-ramp to Route 15 NB, I-91 NB, and I-691 WB from East Main Street begins Sunday night, 10/26/2025

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing ramp closure for the full depth roadway reconstruction to be performed on the East Main Street on-ramp to Route 15 northbound, I-91 northbound, and I-691 westbound in the City of Meriden. This work is scheduled to occur continuously from Sunday, October 26, 2025, to Monday, November 3, 2025.

The on-ramp to Route 15 northbound (NB) I-91 NB, and I-691 westbound (WB) from East Main Street in the town of Meriden will be closed continuously starting Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 6:00 PM to Monday, November 3, 2025 at 6:00 AM. Traffic will be detoured as detailed in the map below, and listed as follows:

  • Take East Main Street eastbound
  • Left onto Preston Avenue
  • Left onto the on-ramp for I-691 WB
  • Take Exit 1-A for I-91 NB
  • Take Exit 1-C for Route 15 NB

Traffic control signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
