NIGHT WORK
For the weeks of August 4 and August 11, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM (Sunday through Thursday nights)
Lane Closures:
- I-91 NB – Exits 15 to the rest area: double or single right or lane closures for traffic shift and temporary barrier pinning
- Route 15 NB – Miller Avenue to Exit 67: right lane closures for temporary barrier pinning
Ramp Closures and Detours (click each link below for the detour routes):
- East Main Street on-ramp to Route 15 NB and I-91 NB, I-691 WB for barrier pinning
- Route 15 NB Exit 68 N-E off ramp to I-91 NB and Route 66 EB for barrier pinning
- Route 15 NB Exit 67 off ramp to East Main Street for barrier pinning
- I-91 NB Exit 16 NB off ramp to East Main Street for temporary barrier installation
DAY WORK
During weekdays, Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 16, from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted below throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads
- Maintain stockpile locations, sweeping, water for dust control
- Excavate, backfill, and form subgrade on Route 15 NB
- Excavate, backfill, and form subgrade on Route 15 NB Exit 68 W off-ramp
- Excavate, backfill, and form subgrade for detention basin area
- Removal of concrete pavement on the Route 15 NB Exit 68 W off-ramp
- Excavate, backfill, and form subgrade on the I-91 NB Exit 16 off-ramp
- Strip topsoil in the wetland creation area and wetland work
- Formwork, form and backfill abutment and wingwall footings for the Route 15 NB bridge over I-91
- Install/relocate temporary illumination
- Relocate overhead wires at Paddock Avenue
- Utilities work
I-91 NB & SB Emergency Turn-Around Closure:
On Sunday night, 8/4/24 we will be restriping the southernmost portion of the project on I-91NB for work on the shoulders. At that time, or by Monday night 8/5/24 at the latest, we will install temporary traffic barriers across the I-91 NB/SB emergency turn-around located just south of the Murdock Avenue overpass.
This closure will be in effect until approximately the end of October 2024.
