NIGHT WORK
Week of August 18 and August 25, expect work from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM (Sunday through Thursday nights – unless otherwise noted)
Lane Closures
- I-91 NB – Exits 15 to Exit 16: left lane closures for temporary barrier pinning
- Paddock Avenue – Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, August 25, 26, and 27 for traffic shift and temporary barrier installation
Ramp Closures and Detours
Sunday 8/18 through Thursday 8/29 (links to the detour routes are on the website)
- East Main Street on-ramp to Route 15 NB and I-91 NB, I-691 WB for barrier pinning
- Route 15 NB Exit 68 N-E off ramp to I-91 NB and Route 66 EB for barrier pinning
- Route 15 NB Exit 67 off ramp to East Main Street for barrier pinning
DAY WORK
During weekdays, Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 29, from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM crews will conduct a variety of work as noted below throughout the I-91, I-691, Route 15 Interchange Phase 2 Project limits:
- Maintenance and protection of traffic with lane and shoulder closures on I-91, I-691, and Route 15, and some local roads
- Maintain stockpile locations, sweeping, water for dust control
- Install temporary earth retaining system at the Route 15 NB Exit 57 off-ramp
- Remove pavement and concrete pavement at the Route 15 NB Exit 68 W off-ramp
- Excavate, backfill, and form subgrade on Route 15 NB Exit 68 W off-ramp
- Excavate, backfill, and form subgrade on the I-91 NB Exit 16 temporary off-ramp
- Install temporary earth retaining system at the I-91 NB Exit 16 temporary off-ramp
- Perform wetland creating work
- Perform culvert repairs
- Perform bridge repair work on the East Main Street bridge over I-91 and Route 15
- Formwork, form and backfill abutment and wingwall footings for the Route 15 NB bridge to East Main Street
LONG-TERM CLOSURE
Temporary traffic barriers have been installed across the I-91 NB/SB emergency turn-around located just south of the Murdock Avenue overpass. This closure will be I effect until approximately the end of October 2024. Read the alert on our website here.
